About us

Counsel that moves policy and public opinion

Marlowe Hartwell pairs courtroom discipline with campaign craft — so your cause is argued persuasively in every room where decisions are made.

A firm built to champion difficult causes

Founded in Washington, D.C., Marlowe Hartwell began as a three-lawyer practice taking on regulatory matters other firms called unwinnable. A decade later we are a full advocacy firm — litigators, policy advisors and communications strategists working as one team.

We measure ourselves by outcomes: rules rewritten, permits secured, reputations defended and disputes resolved before they reach a courtroom. Every engagement is led by a partner, staffed leanly, and reported on plainly.
